- What requirements does my computer need in order to play?
Score Poker software will work with the following minimum hardware/software configuration:
- Software: MS Windows Vista, XP SP2, 2000 SP6, IE 6.0
- Hardware: 300 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM, 50 MB of free disk space
- MAC O/S NOT Supported.
- What is the minimum screen resolution setting I can use?
You will need a system that supports 800 x 600 graphics settings though your experience will be much better with a screen setting of 1024 x 768 or higher.
- Why do you recommend screen resolutions greater than 800x600?
We designed our graphics to look best at screen resolutions of 1024x768 and greater. You can use the 800x600 setting but you will not be able to see both the table and the side panel at the same time.
- How do I change my screen resolution?
If you want to change the settings on your computer, or to check if it is possible, here are a few short steps to follow:
- 1. Go to your computer's Desktop
- 2. Point the cursor against the background, not any icon or window. Press the right mouse button.
- 3. A menu will open, click on Properties.
- 4. A window will open with several tabs at the top. Click the tab labeled Settings.
- 5. The window will change and towards the lower-right you will see a portion of the window called Screen Area. There is a slider in that section. Moving the slider to the right will increase the screen resolution. For example, you may see the setting at 800 x 600. Moving the slider one setting to the right will increase the resolution to 1024 x 768.
- 6. Click OK. Depending on the version of Windows you are using, you may be asked to confirm your change. You will then need to wait while your screen goes blank for a time. If the change is supported by your system, you will see the new resolution and be asked to accept the change. Clicking No or taking no action will cause the screen settings to revert to the prior setting.
- What color settings can be supported?
To provide our high resolution graphics, we require your computer be set to "16 bit" or higher. The client will not run at the 256 color setting.
- How do I change my color settings?
The quickest and easiest way to change your color settings is to use the Start Menu (the little button that says start in the bottom left of your screen). Now select Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings and select the setting you would like.
- What happens if I lose my connection?
Our system monitors the connectivity of all players seated at our games. Whether due to a problem with the Internet, your ISP or your PC, our software will quickly try to reconnect you. The game will wait a short while for that reconnection. If you have not managed to reconnect during that period, the system will apply the appropriate default action at that time. This may involve treating you as all-in for a particular hand, folding you or checking you. At no time will the system bet money on your behalf!
- How do these all-in events work?
When a player has lost connectivity during a hand, that player is treated as being all-in. We don't suddenly move your entire stack into the middle, but the pot that you're involved in will be treated as a side pot. No additional money will be added to this side pot. If other players continue betting then they will contest the main pot between them.
To ensure that players don't abuse this functionality to avoid making a difficult call, we limit the number of all-in events like this to one per day. This includes remaining in games where your chip balance at the table has reached zero. If you experience serious connectivity issues, you can contact a manager who can follow well established guidelines to see whether a particular player should be granted additional all-ins. These guidelines include the use of connectivity reports and the player's past history.
- Can I go all-in intentionally?
All-in protection is designed to help and protect players experiencing connection difficulties. It is not acceptable to misuse this feature just because you wish to avoid calling a bet. We can track players who experience technical difficulties. Anyone found trying to fake disconnections will be barred from the poker room.
- What happens if the server crashes?
If the server is able to recover from an unlikely crash, the tournament will continue from where it left off. If the tournament is unable to resume in a timely manner, then either the prizes will be allocated based on current standings (if the tournament has reached the point where all players are “in the money”) or all buy-ins will be refunded.
- Why do I sometimes experience a slow connection?
Our poker servers are located throughout the world with sufficient bandwidth for a very large number of users. However, some ISP connections may require many hops (network jumps) or may use a congested peering exchange. We regret that we have no control over these issues.
- Why is it telling me “The nickname and/or password were invalid” when I am sure I typed in the correct info?
Check to see if your “Caps Lock” key is pressed because the nickname and password are case sensitive. If so, then depress it and try again. If this is not the problem then please contact tech support.
You will not be able to register with any characters in your user name that are not regular letters or numbers. You can have a space in your name but no foreign characters such as such as #, $, * and %.
